AAUW Amador is a branch of national AAUW which is the nation's leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls and was chartered in 1881. Amador Branch, chartered in the spring of 1969, is an active group of women with diverse interests and talents. Opportunities abound for members to play an active role in the many facets of our Branch: joining an interest group, working on programs, serving on the Home Tour or scholarship committees, or accepting a position on the board.
Our Branch continues to fund scholarships for local women and girls. Our scholarships include community college, upper division / graduate and re-entry, as well as, scholarships for Tech Trek, which is a science and math camp for junior high girls. Scholarships are one of the most important aspects of our efforts. Scholarships are funded by our Annual Home Tour, which was first held in 1972.
Our Branch is committed to bringing together graduates of various institutions to promote educational equity for all women and girls. Membership is open to all those with an associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree and are interested in making a positive impact on the lives of women and girls. We invite you to join us.
