Celebrate California’s Pioneer Heritage. The colorful Kit Carson Mountain Men will rendezvous for their living history wagon train re-enactment through the Gold Country, where everyone is invited to visit with horse-men and women at stops and encampments along the way. All public events are free.
An authentic wagon train of 15 horse-drawn covered wagons will start their journey from the encampment at Amador County Fairgrounds through Plymouth, Drytown, Amador City and Sutter Creek, to Jackson for a celebration of California’s pioneer heritage.
The public is invited to join the wagon train nightly for barbecue dinners and casual entertainment, such as singing by the campfire.
The Wagon Train 4-day adventure begins at the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth
Day 1, Thursday,4/28 – A leisurely tour through the Shenandoah Valley
5:00-7:00PM--BBQ at the Amador county Fairgrounds – Open to the public
Day 2, Friday, 4/29 – From Plymouth enjoy a scenic ride through private ranch properties before a trip down old Hwy 49 with stops in Amador Cty and sutter Creek.
4:00 – 9:00PM – Visit the Wagon Train at the ItalianPicnic Grounds in Sutter Hill. Evening BBQ and campfire enterainment. – Open to the public.
Day 3, Saturday 4/30 – We step back in time to the 1860’sas we travel through an historic ranch off Ridge Road. As we wind through this private ranch we reach Jackson Gate and proceed down Main Street Jackson where we assemble for a once in a lifetime photo before the National Hotel
3:00 – 7:00PM – Visit the Wagon Train at the Kennedy Mine. BBQ and campfire entertainment Open to the public.
Day 4 Sunday, May 1 – The Wagon Train travels down North Main Street from the Kennedy Mine to Main StreetJackson, where all can view the Kit Carson Mountain Men Train Parade.
